Delivery & Installationย Requirements
- General Sidewalks and Driveways must be clear of snow and ice. We require that a clear path is available through your house to the area the appliance(s) will be left or installed. We do our best to prevent damage to floors, but if you have floors that might be damaged by debris carried in on carts or shoes, you will need to put down something to protect them. We can usually remove doors from their hinges, but we do not remove door moldings or other parts of your house. If necessary, railing can sometimes be removed at an additionalย charge.
- Refrigerators A 3-prong grounded electrical outlet must be provided within reach of the refrigerator's cord. Please make sure that you measure the spot where you want your new refrigerator! Most new refrigerators are different sizes than ones made previously. Be extra careful to measure baseboards and height of cabinets above your refrigerator; and don't forget the space needed for a water line if you are getting anย icemaker!
- Dishwashers Dishwashers can be delivered, and your old one removed and disposed of, providing that it has been disconnected from the water, drainage, and electrical connections, and it has been freed from walls, countertops, or floors. We can also provide replacement installation for an additional charge. If you choose to have your dishwasher installed, it will normally be done at the same time as the delivery. Normal replacement installation includes removal and disposal of your old dishwasher, and installation of the new one. It does not include cabinet or countertop modifications, correction of a previous improper installation, or plumbing or electrical work. The opening height between the floor and countertop must be adequate to remove the old unit and install the newย dishwasher.
- Dryers A 30-amp service must be within reach of a standard 4-foot dryer cord. A 3 or 4-prong 230V outlet must be provided for your electric dryer. Gas dryers require a grounded 3-prong 110V outlet within reach of the provided cord. If the standard 3 or 4-prong outlet is not available, one may have to be installed. This requires a licensed professional, and is not part of the services provided by us. Venting your new dryer to the outside with rigid pipe or heavy-duty flexible aluminum duct is now required and plastic duct is considered a fire hazard. We can provide up to 8 ft of flexible ducting within the room where your dryer is located. Anything longer or through walls or floors requires rigid pipe. Our delivery team is not equipped to for this type of installation but our service department may be able to provide this service at anotherย time.
- FOR GAS: We can install your gas dryer to your existing natural gas supply. However, any materials used will be at an extra charge. Propane (LP) dryers generally use a direct connection which must reach the connection on your new gas appliance. We are not able to extend LP gas connections, and if it won't reach, you will need to contact your gas company. LP dryers require a conversion kit, available at an additional cost. We must be notified your dryer will require conversion for LP gas at the time ofย purchase.
- The standard vent direction on dryers is out the rear. Some dryers can be converted to side or bottom vents; however this requires additional parts & labor charges. Please check your venting prior to delivery; if we cannot connect your dryer due to venting direction, and have to make a second delivery there will be additionalย charges.
- Ranges Free-Standing Ranges will be connected, slid into place, leveled, and the packaging will be removed. If your existing range is either built in or not removable by sliding the product out, additional charges may be required. We are not responsible for removing ranges that are built in, hard wired (connected to a junction box), or connected to any "downdraft systems" or outside venting that may require removal. This service is available at additional cost. We can generally install the anti-tip bracket, at additional cost, should you choose to use it. The anti-tip bracket is designed to prevent the range from tipping over if too much weight is placed on an open oven door. It's use is stronglyย recommended.
- FOR ELECTRIC: A 3 or 4-prong 230V outlet must be provided to connect your electric range within reach of a 4-foot rangeย cord.
- FOR GAS: We can install your gas range to your existing natural gas supply. Any materials used will be at an extra charge. Gas ranges require a grounded 3-prong outlet within reach of the provided cord. Most gas ranges require conversion to Propane (LP) settings; we can perform this conversion for a service charge. A few ranges require an LP conversion kit, available at an additional cost, but most include what is necessary to convert for LP Gas. LP ranges generally use a direct gas supply connection in your home, which must reach the connection on your new gas appliance. We are not able to extend LP gas lines, and if your current line won't reach, you will need to contact your gas company to complete theย connection.
- Washers Your new washer will be set in place, leveled, and connected. The drain hose will be installed, provided it reaches your house drain. Drains must be within reach of the drain hose provided. If additional drain hose is required, it can usually be provided, at an additional charge. Most washers today will pump to a maximum of 4 to 6 feet from the floor. For higher house drains, accessory kits may be required. Hot and cold water hoses will be connected, providing the supplied hoses reach the supply connections, the old connections are not corroded, and they are easily removable. If this is not the case, additional plumbing may need to be performed to hook up your machine, at an additional charge. Please make sure your old washer is free of oil or debris before removal. Also, if your old washer has stopped working and has a full tub of water, it must be removed before we can move it. We are not responsible for old machines leaking oil or water, or other substances, in your home during removal. Make sure that there is a water shutoff valve accessible to installers so they may turn the water off prior toย installation.
